As Chelsea Building products in the most recent Everlast brochure, they tested the water absorption rate of Everlast, Engineered Wood, and Fiber Cement in terms of weight added to a product by absorbing water. Everlast came in at .09%, Engineered Wood 41.3%, and Fiber Cement 24.1% in that study. Everlast contains no wood so it will not rot. Everlast is 500% thicker than vinyl siding. Everlast’s EZStack interlocking panels stay affixed to your house in high wind forces. Also, unlike fiber cement and engineered wood Everlast won’t rattle in high wind situations. The fact that it doesn’t rattle really doesn’t prove it’s durable, but you will appreciate that benefit when trying to sleep. With Everlast, you also get a siding that is insect resistant and woodpeckers don’t like it much. Everlast uses a highly durable and fade-resistant acrylic which makes it the most UV-resistant siding on the market.
