Can it be attached to a current structure?

Yes, the Motorized Pergola is designed to be either host-attached or free-standing.

How is Cardinal Architectural different?

We actually extrude, fabricate, and powder coat all the parts to our products in our factory. No one else can say that. We also powder-coat our parts to meet AAMA 2604 standards.

What colors do the Motorized Pergola come in?

We offer 4 standard colors that are all stocked, white, taupe, dark bronze, and black

How will the Motorized Pergola perform in my climate?

Our product is designed for hurricane-strength winds and up to 50 pounds per square foot of snow. The product is also powder coated to meet AAMA 2604 standards. Combined, these things cause our product to be the most durable product you can buy.

How does the Motorized Pergola operate?

Either by using the handy remote control or by using your smart device.

Will I need a building permit to install my Motorized Pergola?

Each and every Motorized Pergola is designed to meet all local building codes to ensure safety and quality. As far as a permit, it depends on the city

Can the Motorized Pergola cover large areas?

Cardinal Architectural has the longest louvers in the industry, 24 ft. long. Our exclusive center gutter means there is no pergola too large. The Arches National Park pergola is over 100 ft. long.

What do the posts attach to?

Depends on the setup. If we are installing on a newer deck, we install blocking underneath to install the posts directly onto the deck. If we are attaching posts off a deck, we pour cement frost footings and attach the posts to those.

Does it get hot, like steel?

Aluminum is used in electronics to dissipate heat. It will drop the temperature below the cover by 10 degrees.

How does it handle hail?

In most situations golf ball sized hail will bounce off of the pergola. Hail damage is covered by homeowners’ insurance.

What type of maintenance is required?

Cleaning it off with a hose and spraying the moving parts with WD-40 once or twice a year. If you have a lot of trees around it remove an end cap and spray out any debris in the louver.

What is the warranty?

20 years on the moving parts, 3 years on the motor, one year on the electronics.
